Mountain Mash 2018

The Mountain Mash 2018 was first held in the youth hostel in Duderstadt, a house that is tailor-made for the needs of Mountain Mash and its participants. The manager of the house and his team were sovereign and friendly to our wishes. The kitchen conjured for us a New Year's Eve gala buffet, as it could not have been better in a star hotel.

Staff Caller was Christer Bern from Sweden this year. He was able to inspire the dancers with fluid choreographies in all square dance programs from mainstream to A2. Christer was at the Mountain Mash for the first time, quickly settled into the community and was so excited about the nature of the event that he was not averse to renewed engagement in two years.

Just like two years ago Staff-Cuer Kolja Froese moved the Round Dancers with lively choreos to great music in the daily workshops and evening dance rounds. He was able to respond to many special requests of the dancers and was always ready to create extra sessions.

Not belonging to the staff, Gila, as in previous years, again taught dances of international folk dance and Ralf contributed a workshop for Real Hexagon in the mainstream program. On New Year's Eve, the time lapsed until midnight in a varied program with dance and show contributions by Junita, Anne, Harald, Uwe & Ralf, Frank and Günter.

Hans and Manuela Krackau, the organizers and Hans as staff callers for squares and contras, held the thread in a practiced hand, so that the Mountain Mash 2018 was an unforgotten experience for all participants at the turn of the year 2018/2019.
